Rob Belchior has 15 years of Economic Development experience with a focus on small business and entrepreneurship. In addition to his career in Economic Development, Rob has a history of business ownership, family business experience, and he taught entrepreneurship at Mohawk College for 7 years.

In his capacity as Small Business Consultant at the City of St Catharines Small Business Enterprise Centre, Rob leads a team dedicated to supporting local businesses through one-to-one consultations, webinars and seminars, programs such as Summer Company and Starter Company Plus, and a variety of community partnerships, outreach and engagement initiatives. Rob has also led 4 Digital Service Squads and a My Main Street Ambassador team. Collectively, these initiatives have supported hundreds of local businesses annually.

As an active member of Ontario’s network of Small Business Enterprise Centres, Rob was a founding member of Small Business Centres Ontario, a nonprofit membership organization comprised of 47 offices located across Ontario. While serving on the Board of Directors at SBC Ontario, Rob has been actively engaged in advocacy, membership relations, conference planning, and in building numerous partnerships.  In 2024, Rob was recognized by his peers for his contributions to the success of the organization.

Rob has earned two Economic Development Designations: Economic Developer (EcD) with Economic Developers Association Canada (EDAC) and Certified Economic Developer (CECD) with International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

Rob is passionate about building partnerships and supporting the local entrepreneurship ecosystem.  He enthusiastically welcomes the opportunity to support Innovate Niagara by serving on the Board of Directors and contributing to the future success of the organization.
